2019 Summer Convention

June 11 & 12, The Colony Hotel, Kennebunkport, Maine

On June 11 & 12, members of the MFDA, family, and friends gathered at the beautiful Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport for the MFDA 2019 Summer Convention!

Special thanks go out to Matthews Aurora for providing us with Mary Russell as one of our keynote speakers. Mary offered information on Opioid Addition and Navigating with Conflict, and her presentations were very well received by class participants.. In addition, we would like to thank Mike Nicodemus of the NFDA for delivering very informative and entertaining presentations on the topics of Communication Skills for Connecting with Cremation Families, The Three E's for Cremation Success, Bringing Ritual to Cremation Arranging and If it Isn't in Writing, It Didn't Happen. The Maine Funeral Directors Association is very grateful to the long-time support of both Matthews and the NFDA for helping us deliver a valuable conference to our attendees. 

Attendees enjoyed the charming Colony hotel in Kennebunkport. The view of the ocean, the food, and the service were all outstanding for attendees and their families to have a well deserved and relaxing break from their hectic schedules. 

Following the continuing education presentations on Wednesday, golfers took to the links of the pristine Webhannet private golf course.  Kirk Kimball hosted another great tournament where golfers had a great time in the best ball scramble. Read More...

Concluding the event was a delicious lobster bake provided by Ned's BBQ and Bakes on the porch of Webhannet's historic clubhouse. There, we had a lot of fun taking chances on the raffle prizes. Lucky winners got some great items. Thank you to Diginity Memorial for their donation of a Lost Valley Gift basket, Jim Lynch for Baxter Brew and Bob's Cashew's, and Parks Superior for the wine and coffee gift basket. 

Special thanks to Patti & Eddie Bibber for hosting such a wonderful event to kick off the summer and getting together all our funeral service friends and family.
